Best Telltale Games
Hi, Everybody! For my first video game blog post on Santi Games, I made a list of some of the best Telltale Games out there! My name is Santiago Brion and I'm about to show you my passion for game right here!
5. Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series
After the success of The Walking Dead game, another IP was adapted from the best TV show to come out of HBO and one of the Greatest TV Shows of all time. This time it follows The Forresters in the land of Ironrath during the events from Seasons 3-5. Like how the show and books followed every main character in each storyline, you play as every member of The Forresters and their squire Gared, and every decision that you make impacts events in future episodes. It had the same signature twists that you can expect, impressive graphics straight out of a Celtic painting/tapestry and great voice acting. A second part was immediately planned out, but due to issues at Telltale Games and their abrupt shutdown, it was imminently canceled.
4. Batman: The Telltale Series
Telltale making a Batman game is honestly the best decision that they have ever made! Ok, yes, it did have technical issues because of the controversy surround Telltale, but the gameplay mechanics, faithfulness to the Batman mythos and action sequences are soo well done! The second part, The Enemy Within was equally impressive. As you play as Bruce Wayne/Batman you feel like you're being a detective, and make crucial decisions that can influence events further. One of them was when you had to choose to give up being Batman or let Alfred go.
3. Minecraft: Story Mode
Minecraft is one of the most popular video games in the world, and Telltale jumped at the opportunity to make a game based on the IP and it was surprisingly good. You've got Patton Oswalt voicing the main protagonist and you choose very decision that he makes that'll change his relationship within the group. Not only can play it on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch, you can even play it on Netflix.(it does suck that I can't play Season Two)
2. The Wolf Among Us
Telltale's sophomore outing, The Wolf Among Us is an engaging Neo-noir fantasy mystery thriller based on a comic book series called Fables by Bill Willingham. In the land of Fabletown, players control Bigbie, the sheriff of Fabletown and the big bad wolf. He solves mysterious murders and discovers a conspiracy. It has since gained a cult following and a sequel was announced in 2019 after LCG entertainment acquired Telltale.
1. The Walking Dead
Before the TV show gained momentum, Robert Kirkman's acclaimed graphic novel series became its own IP for Telltale. You play as Lee, a man who encounters a young girl named Clementine and becomes a father figure to her. The game became Telltale's biggest hit and has received critical acclaim for its graphics, gameplay, choices and voice acting. Choosing whether or not to mercy kill Lee or let him live is one of the most heartbreaking moments in all of gaming. Clementine has since become an iconic character and while the series hasn't been the same without Lee, it still kept the same momentum from its first game.
